Where Is Bali?

The island of Bali is part of the Republic of Indonesia and is located 8 to 9 degrees south of the equator between Java in the West and Lombok and the rest of the Lesser Sunda Islands (Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba and Timor) in the East.

It’s exact location is at 8°25′23″S, 115°14′55, the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east.

Flying time to Jakarta is about 1.5 hours, to Singapore and Perth (Australia) 2.5 and 3 hours, to Hong Kong about 4.5 hours, and to Sydney/Melbourne about 5.5 to 6 hours.

It is one of Indonesia’s 33 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island. The island is home to the vast majority of Indonesia's small Hindu minority. It is also the largest tourist destination in the country and is renowned for its highly developed arts, including dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metal-working and music.

We stayed 5 days 4 nights in Bali and still it was not enough. We left the island no doubt coupled with great experience and extreme relaxation, we felt that we should have stayed longer. Yes, Bali certainly knows how to twist it’s way into your very heart and soul. Once there, you will feel that you belong to the place. It’s easy to get addicted to it’s charm and we strongly urge everyone who has not been there to take a trip over now!
