There’s so much to celebrate as 2008 comes to a close. With your support Project AWARE Foundation has:

• Implemented more than 2000 global actions for coral reef conservation during International Year of the Reef. These include reef cleanups, reef monitoring programs and education activities for divers and children.
• Supported stronger global protections for sharks and coral reefs during the largest environmental meetings on the planet – including the 2008 International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Conservation Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
• Organized more than 1000 underwater cleanups in 110 countries of the world – protecting underwater habitats and collecting data for marine debris prevention.
• Sponsored hundreds of species research initiatives and grass roots conservation projects with a focus on lasting underwater protection.
• Educated more than 1500 children about fragile coral reefs and ways to get involved.  

With your continued involvement we can keep the momentum strong, winning even more victories for underwater environments in 2009.
