Project AWARE - Our Blue World

December 2010 News for AWARE Divers and Advocates

Dear Divers,

The ocean is in the fight of its life. Thankfully, divers and advocates have lead ocean protection efforts in 2010. From volunteer teams removing debris underwater to shark advocates demanding protection for threatened species – we’ve been in the front lines, giving the ocean a voice.

Today, I ask you to give a gift to the ocean this holiday season, to help protect critical species and keep underwater environments healthy and thriving.

Project AWARE Foundation and its volunteer divers around the world are on the ground taking action. And your gift of any size will be used where it’s desperately needed most to protect the ocean ecosystems we all depend on. Here are four ways your gift can help make a difference:

  • 25 ($, €, £) supports coral bleaching and species monitoring
  • 50 helps remove marine debris and tackle prevention efforts
  • 100 sustains critical shark advocacy and protection
  • 250 supports diver education, awareness and local communities

Together, we’ve shared many victories this year. With the generous support of our AWARE divers and supporters worldwide, we’ve seen shark protection victories, underwater cleanup conquests and coral monitoring achievements this year.

Now, we’re poised to address an even stronger action plan for 2011. A re-launch of our longstanding organization is in the making - with a focused vision and honed strategies for success. And we’re looking to you to make it happen.

Please make a holiday gift of any size today. A gift for the ocean is a gift for our future.
