Project AWARE - Our Blue World

September 2010 News for AWARE Divers and Water Enthusiasts

Dear Divers,

I’m excited to share this news with you. Project AWARE’s charity partner, PADI, will now match every contribution to conservation made before 20 September to support International Cleanup Day.

This is a limited time opportunity to double every dollar you donate for clean oceans. So you give $50 to conservation, PADI matches with $50 more! It's really that easy to double your impact for underwater environments.

What’s more, for every donation of $50 or more you’ll get your own underwater cleanup bag to take action against marine debris on every dive or snorkel.

Time is not on our side when it comes to the battle against ocean pollution and its affect on marine life. An estimated six million tonnes of rubbish enter our ocean and waterways each year.

Every gift received before 20 September supports and mobilizes volunteer dive teams with cleanup tools and information to remove underwater debris including harmful plastics and fishing gear.

Right now, thousands of volunteers are gearing up to take the plunge for International Cleanup Day. There are over 1000 registered Project AWARE cleanup events across the globe this month alone.

Make your gift go twice as far this September and take advantage of the PADI match supporting critical cleanups in underwater environments that need it most. Your gift not only supports a clean ocean planet but the collection of valuable data on the debris removed from underwater environments to drive positive change.

I look forward to your involvement during this timely initiative.
